Stabilizing Fundraising During Leadership Transition

WPA, a 180-year-old organization, faced significant turnover across executive and development leadership. During this period, English Hudson was brought in to maintain continuity in fundraising and donor relationships.

Our role included interim development leadership, stabilizing day-to-day operations, and ensuring that donor communication and engagement did not lapse during the transition.

As new leadership came into place, the work shifted toward longer-term strategy—co-developing a fundraising approach, strengthening messaging, and building internal systems to support sustained growth.

Client Perspective

“One of my first priorities as CEO was to evaluate every external partnership. Not only did I choose to continue with English Hudson, but I expanded our engagement because they brought strategic and writing expertise we didn’t have in-house. They’re not just consultants—they’re true thought partners.”
