Senior Writing Strategist. Cassandra Grimes, MA, CDP®, applies her extensive expertise in nonprofit development, grant writing, and strategic communications to create persuasive narratives that help drive clients’ missions forward. Based near Montgomery, Alabama, a city known as both the birthplace of the civil rights movement and the cradle of the Confederacy, Cassandra draws inspiration from the region’s complex legacy of history and progress. This unique environment deeply shapes her approach, bringing nuance and urgency to her work as she helps clients bridge past and present in their pursuit of positive social impact.

Cassandra specializes in translating clients’ complex goals into grant proposals, reports, and other collateral that meet the highest standards of quality, all while infusing each project with a strong commitment to racial justice and inclusivity. As a Certified Diversity Professional (CDP®), she integrates principles of equity and representation into each project, amplifying the transformative role nonprofits play in uniting and strengthening communities. Her work fosters stakeholders’ deeper understanding of the invaluable contributions nonprofits make in addressing today’s challenges and building a more inclusive tomorrow. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids, savoring family moments and creating memories together. And if she’s not crafting strategies or proposals, you can usually find her relaxing at the beach — her favorite place to unwind.
